So. I had this mod in game. It was a fun mod, but one I don't think you want to have in a house as much as an adult theatre community lot. It was from the Back Alley Sims and it allows Sims to stand up (people stand to do this?) and watch porn and then get their freaky deaky on. With others if they want. A funny mod, but not something you want in your home...

Celebrity Sims
I love to download and add celebrity Sims to my game. But I don't download just any old famous Sim (no Angelina or Brad or Paris or LiLo in my game. Please). Most of the people who make celebrity Sims tie them into movies they are in. I dislike this. I prefer to use the actual actor. I usually end up stripping them down and putting them in regular clothing and make them look like them from pictures and not from movies. I also dislike the creators who photo skin the faces onto the skins. It takes a lot of talent to make a celebrity Sim with makeup and masks. This I prefer because then I can change the face to look more or less severe.
My latest celebrity Sim desire is Alan Rickman. And he's out there because of his role in the Harry Potter movies. But I don't want Snape in my game. I want ALAN. It disturbs me though, that by game standards he's considered an elder. Alan Rickman is not an Elder! He's only 64 (which is my mother's age). But now I have to find a good version of him as Snape to deconstruct and make back into Alan. Why can't there be a good Alan as the villain in Die Hard?
Anyway, I do have other actor Sims in my game. The first one I ever downloaded was Vera Marina's version of Peter Facinelli as Carlisle Cullen. However, I put his normal hair color and facial hair on him (he's a sexy brunet), gave him a new last name (in this instance it was Tretheway) and set him off in conquest of various townies. I married him off with Carmen Ng in one game and he produced this little jewel.
I still have Basil saved in my dead game cache. I could clone him, age him and add him to a game. Isn't he just wonderfully ugly? That turtle chin! And that nose! He's definitely his mothers son, but with his father's Twilight eyes and skin. Next time I put Peter in game I'm going to put a Maxis style skin and eyes on him. I don't mind shiny skins, and there are times they look splendid (like in the case of Dragonmandy's Donny Sim). Donny is a good brother Sim to Peter. I had those two and the Russell Tovey (from the BBC's Being Human) Sim I'd downloaded from Garden of Shadows as brothers in one house and they were all three quite happy as brothers sharing the same house, until I married Peter to Carmen. But that was okay. I married Russell to Madison Fortuna and had Donny shack up with another romance Sim named Juanita and her daughter Muerta. Muerta is the product of Juanita having a short and cheaty dalliance with the Grim Reaper.
I also have Vera's Drew Barrymore. She's my only female Sim. But she's also one of my most favorite actresses. And Vera has her down cold. Vera has many Sims down cold. She's freakin' amazing.
I'd like to download Natalie Portman, but I've haven't been satisfied with what is out there. And Christian Bale. I had to arr him from the booty and it was a huge download that took forever [because it was from the second Batman movie with him and Maggie (she wouldn't show in the Sim Bin. Could you imagine the turtle-y looking kids she would make?!) and Heath (Eh, not interested at the mo) and that other guy who played Two-Face (not interested in him either)]. Then I found out that although he was exquisite in the photo on The Sims Ripoff, it was because he is photo skinned. Bah. But I'll probably take his custom skin off and see if I can use makeup and masks to make him look like him. Well, that is, once I get a no-cd crack and install Double Deluxe. Then I can put all that stuff into Body Shop!
But yeah. Back to my point. I don't have a problem using Celebrity Sims. I just use them like any other Sim. I torture them and make them do things and mate with people they wouldn't in real life. I'll keep you up to date on what my plans for Alan are (when I find a good Alan/Snape).

Disaster Strikes the Stardusts!
I've been playing Ethan and Mission Stardust (oh Maxis, you crack me up) in the Free Play Four Corners on Life Stories. I had had my game crash and Mission's entire pregnancy and subsequent birth and toddler raising was all gone. So was all the progress I'd made for romance Sim, Ethan, in the culinary career. So, I sped up Mission's pregnancy and got a girl once more. I renamed her Skyla and took a snap of her. Bingo, basically the same face! Glad I didn't have to do that all over again, I got her all skilled up and had a little birthday party with Mom and Dad (Ethan is an attractive Maxis Sim, I must admit).
She ran off to eat her cake and I set Mission on fixing the dishwasher. Mistake. Mission got a good shock but didn't die. You'd have thought I would have learned from this but NOOOO I had to tempt fate. So I set Ethan to fixing the dishwasher. Bam. Dead. Mission pled for his life but she didn't win the 'which hand' game and so now Ethan is dead. On his daughters transition! How horrifying. In fact I was so shocked I didn't even get a snap of his death.
But I couldn't let Mission be alone. So I did some speed dating with Inge Jones' teleporter shrub. I decided on BJ Schehl. Moved him in, checked his stats. Woot! A family Sim with a job in Science, quite a few friends and a bit of cash to add.
Of course he got a make over and so did Mission to match her grief and his preference. They double bolted but now they are at three with the changes. He likes fat Sims with crazy hair and she likes fit Sims with facial hair. So because of the untimely death of Ethan (whom she did fart hearts for) I gave her pure white hair and fatted her up (because I know I'd turn prematurely white haired and fatter). And better "Mom" wear. BJ wears a new argyle sweater and tan slacks as befitting a scientist and Dad look. And because he's a redhead, I put a fro on him. It's the one extracted from the game. He looks so ginger jewfroesque in it. In fact he might look a bit like Matt Stone. And regency sideburns from the Sussi Regency hair for male. Those are the icing! I hope he and Mission make a nice ugly for me.
Here are a couple of Skyla. She was a bit of an ugly toddler, but she's not so bad now as a child. I was hoping for a bit of ugly. I'm not a big fan of overly lovely Sims.
So, yeah, that's what's been happening in this household.

A short aside
Before my last and most fleshed out Four Corners died a sad death, I had a very fruitful Sinclair home. Although I didn't take action screenshots and didn't write a story, I always "write" stories in my head as I play along. In time, Ashley Sinclair became bugged. She couldn't eat normally and every time she would try to eat food she'd error. However, she could eat delivery, snacks and instant meals. This was quite a trial for me to keep up on because I'd have to race to the kitchen to stop her from eating anything. Now, sometimes, and it was very rare, she could eat things she would take from platters of served food. She couldn't eat food that was placed on the table. It was such a weird thing. But, because she is a Romance Sim and had a lifetime desire to be a Hall of Famer I decided it could be incorporated into my mental storyline. Ashley Sinclair, in that game, had an eating disorder. And the family would actually talk about food and her in conversations and it was almost like they knew something was up with her.
I'm not a thought bubble translator like The Queen of Thought Bubbles (Madame Ugly) but I did have some good mental stories going on about the family.
If I had any sense at all, I would have moved that family out of the house. I think it was bugged and perhaps I could have "cured" Ashley of her eating disorder.

Yay for Xmas
I actually mean this. I don't usually enjoy the holiday season. Other than it gives me an excuse for cooking a lot of food, which I do like to have an excuse for. We had ham and a bunch of side dishes.
But, I must say I scored in gifts. Not only did I get a bag of nuts, comfy sock shoes and a 15 dollar Starbucks gift card from my roommate's sister, Jan, I also got The Sims Double Deluxe. Now I just need to find a no-cd version so I can actually install it without Securom. Life Stories doesn't have Securom but Pet and Castaway Stories does. Since my computer is now Securom free due to it having XP reinstalled on it, I would like to keep it that way.
In other news I also received the new Mario brothers by proxy. Jan it bought it for roomie and of course I've been playing it. It's much like old NES Mario, which is so cool, but it's harder and of course it has the options of using the nunchuk and there is this cool thing with teeter-totter style beams that you have to actually tilt the controller to use.
-------------
I've been reading Madame Ugly's journal, Simbation, over at LJ. The link is over there -----> If you like uglification Sim stories you should visit. It's a bit adult at times, but it's hilarious. She's really talented at writing high drama. I have started from the beginning. This is a daunting task as she has a lot of entries and they started back in 2005. But it's been well worth it. I routinely bust a gut at her writing. In fact my new favorite saying is from one of her comments in the readers comments. She said she, "snorted so hard she practically deviated her septum". That alone set me off to the point where I actually had to go use the loo.
------------
I have no idea if anyone will read this blog. I don't really care. The Sims have given me such joy and I just need to share it.

Ugly Sims: Meet Some Sinclairs and Smiths
My first pictures of some ugly Sims I've inbred. I don't try to breed ugly Sims, but I find it delightful when I do.
Since I play Life Stories, there are some excellent ugly Maxis made Sims available. I do enjoy making my own interesting looking Sims, but there is some sort of odd challenge in my mind to make as many interesting looking ones from Maxis Sims as possible.
Something I've found humorous is in the main Life Story. Riley Harlow and her aunt Sharon Foss make snide remarks in the story line about how Agora Tchotchke is horse-faced and homely.
Agora is a bit long faced, but Riley is far uglier than her (I married her off to Dylan, the other Life Story antagonist and they make fairly attractive children). Riley and Mickey Smith make some of the homliest Sims, as far as I'm concerned. Even with scads of make up and accessories, they are far from pretty.
Another family that makes ugly Sims are Waring and Ashley Sinclair.
Penelope is quite possibly one of the best looking Sims I've had (imo) in game. So lovely in fact that her half brother Ronan was very much in love with her. They are both Romance Sims and I was bored so I married them and bred them (yes, I cheated. Most disgustingly so). Ronan is a vaguely homely young man who was the first child of Mickey and Riley. And I was having a hard time finding young men she bolted with. I was spawning a lot of girls and it was really annoying. Sure, she was in love with everything with legs, but because I took the family link off in Simpe, it showed they had a mutual interest beyond turn-ons (mutual black hair and makeup desire.*) and woohooing.
Ronan is the fruit that Riley and Mickey produced. I guess he's not that bad in the looks department. I've certainly dated uglier dudes than him. Penelope and his Great Aunt Sharon were rather smitten with him though. He produced a couple female sprog with Sharon (they didn't have a family link at all, so no cheating there). In the end though, I found a spouse for Sharon. She always bolts with townie Cole Nanale and he's a kind and fairly attractive family Sim. I will have to fish them out of my saved borked game files. They do deserve their own post. They are some fugly looking creatures. But not nearly as ugly as their half sister/aunt something or other Felicia Smith, the spawn of Ronan and Penelope.
*Almost all my Sims wear makeup and face makeup and I never make that a turn off. I almost always make stink a turn off. Who in real life is turned on by stink? I'm sure there is someone but I don't want to know this person and if I do know someone who is, I don't want to know it's a turn-on for them.. EVAR.
**I almost always use this hair and Adele's Antoinette hair for pics. The one on Ronan is Callum91's extracted Maxis mesh from Seasons (it might be a brad2006 @ mts recolor). I love this male mesh, along with most of HP's male hair (with Alfies recolors) and use them quite exclusively.

Perhaps Thalia is not that bad. I can't find a pic of her sister, and I will have to dig through my photos and the borked game files to dig out a screen shot. But it's generally Waring that makes ugly children. I bred Ashley (a Romance Sim) with Mickey Smith/Harlow (another Romance Sim), and they made a quite lovely daughter:

I like to enhance with makeup, but sometimes, like in the case of Felicia, you know, in the end, no amount of makeup is going to make a Sim really attractive. And I realize the hair probably isn't the most flattering, but this hair (Athena mesh by HystericalParoxysm and recolor by AlfredAskew) gives a clear shot of the face**. In fact, Felicia looks quite a bit like her half sisters.
In the next update on Ugly Sims: Riley's other children and some of the Sharon Foss and Ronan Harlow-Smith misbegotten.

Decisions Decisions
So, since the great crash of November 3rd, 2009 I've been trying to decide if I want to play a Maxis Matchy game or a realistic sort of game. I've been wanting to do a film for awhile but I like the way realistic Sims look in films compared to Maxis genetics. I realize I could have both but I would have to take out my skin overrides, which I don't really like, but keep because they have genitalia. It also doesn't help that I just made way over to Maxis Dreams which all about Maxis Matchiness. I don't think there isn't a hair I don't love on there. I also was really liking the default skins and eyes. Not more realistic but better looking for sure.
I will have to research and ruminate on this further.

It Can Happen To Anyone
I don't know what the hell I thought I was doing, but I only had backed up part of my data to CD and flash drive. So, although I did get all of my music and some of my Sims2 Downloads saved, I still lost a lot of stuff.
I knew this was coming. I knew the entire thing was going to blow up on me but I hadn't quite gotten everything saved. And I don't know why I hadn't saved my Sims2 downloads folder to disc? What was that? I think I thought I had saved the majority of that to disc as well. If I have, I haven't been able to find that disc anywhere. I was really very good about sorting everything. But I hadn't apparently sorted them out onto a disc.
I think the most painful was 4 years of bookmarks and writing (recent writing, not old stuff).
I've almost gotten all my hacks for the Sims2 back. I have almost all of my Firefox extensions as well. I found a new anti-virus. Avast decided it wanted to choke over a dll so I said, fine, I'll find something. I toddled off to File Hippo and got myself Bit Defender Free.
I'm being very careful as to what I'm adding to this computer now. I am thinking about getting a new modem and setting up the computer my friend Jamie gave me and putting Ubuntu on it. I realize I'm a dinosaur with internet connections. Becky said she'd help me set up my dial up service to use Linux.
What good has come out of this? I've found new hacks, new clothing, new creators for the Sims2. I've found a bunch of new and cool addons for Firefox (Organize Status Bar anyone?). I'm going to backup everything better. I am gladdened that I did save all of my programs to disc so I didn't have to go around and download them again.
Just remember. Save everything that means something to you. Even if you think you can find it later, you might not be able to. This is something we've all learned in the The Sims2 creating community. A person can set up a Sims web shop, put up an awesome mesh for recolor and have a proprietary user policy. And then POOF. All the stuff is gone because they just couldn't afford or commit to the site. Because of this, everyday, I bless sites like MTS2 for hosting creators or the souls at WickedNoukFamily for running the Sims 2 Graveyard. And yes, even the Pirates at Paysites Must Be Destroyed [although I have opinions on Arring (but don't we all?)] have done a big favor for the community.
Rambling now. I'm off to finish finding things.

IDC WAT U THINK
I guess I'm using this blog for pictures and maybe stories of my Sims. I play Life Stories. I'm okay with this. Problem with Life Stories is that it doesn't have a storytelling application in it to take screen shots like LS:Castaway and LS: Pets does. Stupid Maxis. So I'm just generally screen shooting my Sims in makeover and I'll have some funny and/or strange things I find to take shots of.
And perhaps if I find a no CD version of Castaway I'll reinstall it so I can actually do a story with that. I refuse to have Securom on my computer again. My original LS doesn't have it, but I know Castaway does. Which is unfortunate, because I love Castaway. Stupid EA. They really need to examine their suck and get rid of it.
I'll probably use this blog to occasionally rant about stupid things in the Sims Community I have no control over.
