Troll Brain Salad

I can't seem to find very many storytellers that have written about the characters in Life Stories. This is sad, because these are fairly attractive characters with a pretty decent back story. Even the premade characters are fairly fleshed out and interesting. But it's not surprising, because the series wasn't that popular amongst The Sims 2 diehards.

My favorite playable is Sharon Foss. She's Riley's (the heroine in the first tale) aunt and we see her briefly at the beginning of the tale. At the end of the story we are given the reason for her disappearance. She ends up giving Riley her house and she is moved to the Sim Bin. It is stated in her description she made a windfall in the stock market and is a millionairess.

In the dialog with Riley at the end of the story, she makes a casual remark that she has met a man on the internet and she's off to pursue greater things.


I always build her a big home, set her up and marry her to Cole Nanale. In my mind she was stood up by her internet date. She met Cole, the punk rocker with the mohawk while she was waiting for her date to show up.

They always have two bolts for each other and they constantly fart hearts for each other (despite Sharon being a Knowledge Sim). Cole, a Family Sim is set at the top of the Slacker career, even though he doesn't have the levels for it. They do well together. Even before I set her hair red or blonde, they double bolt.

I want to write a story about how Cole and Sharon meet. And then I want to write about how she gets past her trauma from what happened in the main story. These two plot points are mapped out in my brain, but for the life of me I can't seem to write them down effectively. The lines I write seem forced and fake. Which is driving me to distraction.

In other news, I've been trolling "The Official Sims 3" facebook fan page. I love sporking the sheep and making the 12s indignant. I am, and will be, very vocal about not using paysites and trying to get people to think for themselves and stop acting like sheep. I suggest others do the same.

What sort of game is the Sims3 trying to be?

It seems to me it's sort of this messed up amalmagation of Simulated Life and Fantasy Game and Quest Busywork. Except there haven't been any supernaturals introduced other than playable ghosts. And while that's fine and good, how can they justify having alchemy and not have the supernatural creatures they had in The Sims 2?

I don't want to have busywork in my game. I think Alchemy and Gem Cutting and fuckall knows what else other sorts of Everquest/WoW sorts of skill crap they've added. Of course there are gem cutters in real life, but I'm pretty certain it's not a regular skill set amongst regular people in the world. How many of you go out and find gems and have them cut by a cutter? It just seems like it's no longer a real life simulation as much as it is a quest style game without the fighting monsters part. Yet.

And I'm not even going to go there with the way the characters look. They are unattractive and apparently difficult to adjust.

The Sims3 does not interest me in the least. Which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to the entire neighborhoods aging up together like real life.
Oh well. I'll stick with The Sims2 for the time being.

So. I was in a bit of a lather over the fact that I couldn't play my game because I couldn't find a No CD/DVD crack for Double Deluxe that would work (well, I found one at Game Burn World but I wasn't willing to download another one just to be thwarted again). We went to Walmart today. I hate it there, but it's a double edged sword. It's all we have in this town for the most part. I'd have to travel 30 miles rt to get to the game store and I haven't been willing to leave the house that much. In my wisdom and laziness, I decided to go check out the Pets EP that was there. I knew I could get the combination pack with Mansions and Gardens and Family Fun but I knew Securom would be on there. I checked when I was there, and I was indeed correct. But it wasn't on the Pets CDrom. And the Pets CDrom was bassackward compatible with the Double Deluxe DVD.
The Pets EP still has the old encryption stuff (which the mofos at EA should have stuck with for all The Sims games - I could rant about that for awhile). For those of you aren't following, this means I won't have Securom on my computer.
But now I'm in a quandary of sorts. Since Pets works (for sure, I installed it), does that mean I'm going to have to get all the EPs and SPs, uninstall Pets, install the new EP/SPs , and then install Pets last? Will this work? I know that Pets isn't the last EP. That's Apartment Life. And uninstalling and installing Pets is going to be a bitch, but dammit, I don't want that shit on my computer.

As for Apt Life, they have it at Walmart and I think it would have Securom on it, but it doesn't say it is on the back of the case. All the others said it did. If Apt Life does not have Securom on it, that means good to go. I wonder if the CD-Rom versions all have the old OpenSSL encryption on it?

Now, I have to go to Amazon and find used version of the SPs that come with the Pets combination pack that came out on Jan 12 (M&G and FFS). And if they are old, they won't have the Securom on them either. And they'll hopefully be cheaper.

So what do I do now?

I'm about ready to say eff this to trying to get a no CD/DVD crack for my Sims2 Double Deluxe. I thought I found one on GameCopyWorld but it's apparently not compatible. I might just uninstall the game, reinstall it and just play it as it is.  I might also look for an old version of OFB without the Securom on it and use that.

I do understand that might version of DD might not be the same as the other, but it says it's for Deluxe when I try to use it rather than DD. Maybe I'll just head over to Amazon and look for an old copy of OFB.

I'm finally ranting about this

So... last summer or therebouts, when I first started getting heavily into collecting custom content for sims I had stumbled upon a well known adult mod site. I thought I'd peek into some of the stories written there because I was bored and I wanted to see how some people were using adult mods in their stories.

And there was this pretty good story, by whom, I couldn't tell you. It had decent dialog and the pictures were steamy but not over the top and I was fairly impressed by it. I even stayed up late to read this story and I was so thrilled to get to the end and read what was going to happen to everyone in this epic serial soap opera type story.

And the storyteller totally copped out and blew the entire church up where practically the entire clan was gathered for a wedding. I still seethe over this story ending. I'd rather she/he just not have ended the story and just not kept going with it. This was not closure, this was stupid.

If I wasn't writing this rant on here I would just go off to Sim Secret and post a hate you for ruining a pretty decent story. Yeah, I've been annoyed by this for that long. Usually, I'm pretty good about letting this sort of thing go, but I think reading other people's stories only makes me think back to the several hours I wasted reading that one story (it was a very long story).

Now, I read Katee and Madame Ugly's stories. Hopefully, once I'm done with Mme Ugly I'll be able to find something as good. I'm probably going to go read Sigmaroop and Strange Tomato's stories next. I've heard many good things about them.

Not AGAIN! *face palm*

For the 3rd time in like 4 weeks I've had to uninstall Life Stories. Everything was going along peachy keen. I wasn't messing with anything in SimPE or doing anything that might bork up the game. And yet, it happened. I borked up the game.


It started two days ago. I was trying to build a house and I was able to throw down a foundation and then walls, but I'd click on staircases and BAM! crash. It wasn't just staircases though. I couldn't buy anything from seating/comfort. It was really very random. I removed all of my custom content. Same issue. Removed all my hacks. Same issue.


Plus I was getting random crashes while I was playing. This was very unfortunate because Mickey and Riley had twin girls and an abduction son. And these girls were actually attractive. Victoriana is almost unbelievably attractive for a Mickey and Riley crotchfruit.

So that's Victoriana. I do think she's very pretty for this pairing. I did save the neighborhoods in another folder so maybe I can resurrect her for something else.
Like the actual Sims 2 Double Deluxe I have sitting on the unused monitor (makes a great shelf). I still need to head to roomies sisters house so I can download the no-cd crack. I want to get all of the expansion packs and stuff packs. And I'll need all the no-cd cracks for those as well. So, do I wait and buy all the ep and sp or do I just get the one and worry about everything else later? I can't decide.

The 10th Doctor has Passed (spoiler alert)

I watched the last Doctor Who episodes with the 10th Doctor tonight. I laughed. I cried. And now there is a hole in my heart because I'm not impressed with this new Doctor. Well, at least not the way he looks and I'm not sure if he's going to win my heart like some of the others from past seasons. I loved David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston. And of course Tom Baker was brilliant. I like Peter Davison too, but perhaps it is because he was a dreamboat.

This new Doctor... have you seen him? He looks like a caricature. In fact, he looks like a purposely ugly Sim. He has a square head and jaw. Oh that Jaw! It's a huge butt chin. Put some chinderwear on that thing! Won't someone think of the children?

The end of the show though was wonderful, up until the regeneration. And now because of it I am on a serious hunt for a really good John Barrowman/Captain Jack Harkness Sim. I can't seem to find a good one anywhere. Not even a photoskinned one. Because Oh Em Gee! I already have the (most excellent and droolicious) Russell Tovey Sim and I have to go cause mayhem in Four Corners with Jack and Alfonse! My panties are all aflutter now. Please excuse me. . .
